Feeders

A feeder is a material handling equipment used to regulate the flow of a bulk material from a bin or hopper. Feeders are often used in conjunction with other types of material handling equipment, like conveyors, crushers, dryers, grinders, blenders, and mixers.

Several types of feeders can be used in a crushing/process system. They are selected to suit the material, feed rates and pre-sorting. The feeder decides the magnitude of the load on the crushing/process system. Therefore, the handling system load condition and thereby its performance is controlled by the feeder.

Different types of feeders are needed because bulk materials constitute a wide range of materials (e.g. coal, coke, iron ore, Husk, Bagasse, limestone, dolomite, quartzite, sand, raw sinter mix, and sinter etc.)

Belt Feeder

GVN offers a wide range of heavy-duty belt feeders that are capable of handling almost every type of material.

When the material to be conveyed is of different size, proportion, density, dryness then one can rely on Belt Feeders to convey the material consistently and efficiently to another stage. Able to handle a variety of materials, belt feeders are reliable and useful in an endless amount of applications.

Screw Feeder

GVN’s Screw Feeder is a mechanism designed to meter bulk materials and is usually located at the beginning of a process for handling bulk solids materials. It consists of a helix or screw turns inside a hopper moving the materials forward and out of the feeding device into a process.

Capacity or feed rate can be accurately controlled with screw feeders. Variable speed drives improve metering accuracy and can provide a wide range of feed rates. Screw feeders are available in a variety of sizes, lengths, configurations and materials of construction.

Single screw and twin-screw models are also available as per the requirement of the client.

Drum Feeder

Drum feeders are used to feed, sort and orient parts in pick and place and other automated applications. Rotating drum feeders feature a quiet operation and can be used with one or more linear tracks to save space and increase efficiency.

Rotating drum feeders are ideal for high volume industrial automation processes and typically have a quiet operation and take up little space. They are an effective and user-friendly feeding solution that helps reduce production downtime and increase efficiency.

Types of Drum Feeder:

  1. One Drum Feeder
  2. Two Drum Feeder
  3. Three Drum Feeder

Apron Feeder

A robust style of feeder that can be used to extract or feed large, lumpy, abrasive and heavy ores under severe impact conditions - including wet, sticky or frozen operations. Apron Feeders excel at handling material that is beyond the scope of other feeders.

GVN’s Apron feeder is designed to last, our easy-to-install and maintain material handling solutions serve both the cement and mining industries

Integrating the Apron Feeder drive to the crusher it feeds ensures the crusher is performing at its peak efficiency.

Vibratory Feeder

Vibratory feeders use both vibration and gravity to move material.

Mostly used by  the companies such as Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Electronic, Food Processing, Fast Moving Consumable Goods (FMCG), Packaging, Metal working, Glass, Foundry, Steel, Construction, Recycling, Pulp and paper, Plastics etc.

At GVN, our vibratory feeders are highly regarded for their ability to reliably handle parts of all sizes and shapes. We offer a complete line of vibratory feeder systems from 6 to 36 inches in diameter.

Drag Chain Feeder

The Drag Chain Feeder manufactured by GVN is used to convey the coal from the bunkers to the furnace in most of the cases. It moves material 8 to 12 feet per minute to a storage location and/or disposal location and can have up to a 35 degree incline.  Our drag chain feeder comes in varied widths depending on customer's requirement.

Drag chains are made of high quality EN8 material to withstand erosion and corrosion

Rotary Air Lock

After years of engineering and manufacturing rotary airlocks, we consider ourselves proven experts on the various rotary airlock and valve designs available to our customers

GVN made rotary air locks are used to control the discharge rates of fine or granular, free flowing, dry solid materials between parts of systems at equal pressure or with minimum air loss under differential pressure conditions.
